There are two new ways to volunteer your time and talent at the conference this year! (It can even help you save a little
money on registration!)
First, we have our dedicated volunteer (DV) program.
A DV is a volunteer who works
in a specific area or job for 12 or more hours during the conference (and sometimes before). There are still several
DV positions available, please go to the volunteer page to see what’s available and to apply for a position.
We do not ask DVs to pre-pay for registration, as we don’t wish to process refunds onsite. Instead, a DV is asked
to sign an agreement to complete their assignment and to attach a check that will be cashed only if the DV fails to do the
job. DVs report directly to the coordinator for the particular area that is being worked and it is that coordinator
who verifies completion of the assignment. There are a limited number of positions available, and we recommend contacting
us early if you want one. These positions are available for adults, and where appropriate, teens.
For those
who would like to get involved for just an hour or two, we have some incentive for you too! Work one hour, and get $5
in Exhibit Hall Scrip! That’s right, for every hour that you help, we’ll give you special scrip that can
be used at any vendor in the hall (excluding the HSC bookstores and boutique). It’s a great way to meet people,
help the conference, get involved AND support our vendors!
Available jobs will be posted onsite, simply stop by the
Volunteer Desk and see where you’re needed. No
pre-signups, no long commitments and a chance to do something
good while still having fun!
Volunteering at the conference is a great way to get to know people and to use your
time and talents to help HSC! We really appreciate every little bit that our members and attendees contribute
to make our conference one of the best in the country!
Still not registered? Do it now - prices increase after
May 31!
