the decision to homeschool as they face difficult questions and challenges. These families may wonder about socialization,
the legal issues surrounding homeschooling, or how to integrate an educational philosophy into their everyday lives. Some
families may doubt their abilities, feel confused, and ask themselves, "Can I really do this?" To the parents of
teens, high school education, driver's education, work permits, and college admittance present additional questions. HSC
encourages parents to trust their children and themselves to make good decisions, and empowers families to find the support
and information they need. HSC
recognizes that homeschoolers represent a diverse group of people with many different interests. To serve our conference attendees
fully, we strive to offer a broad spectrum of ideas, workshops, approaches, and learning and educational tools. HSC does not
endorse any specific methodology, curriculum, or a set of beliefs, political or otherwise. HSC's mission is to
honor the diversity of homeschoolers, support and promote the entire spectrum of homeschooling, provide information, monitor
and influence legislation, and offer opportunities for families to get together. |
