Recycled Resource Room – NEW Bag Sale!
This year is our 20th Anniversary conference! To celebrate, the RRR is holding
a bag sale during our last half hour. Each brown bag will cost $3 and you can fill as many as you want. Bring your conference
bag too and fill it with bargains.
The Recycled Resource Room
will be open on Saturday for buyers, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. From books, to educational toys, to crafts and
kits, you are sure to find something new and exciting for you and your family.

Think it sounds like too much work?
Well, we are here to help.
Clean out those closets and participate in a HSC conference tradition! This is a terrific way to pass on all that wonderful
material you’ve bought over the years but no longer need. It’s also a great place to come and look for bargains.
It is very easy to sell because we do most of the work for
you. You simply bring your items pre-tagged with prices to Room 303 Friday between 7:00-9:00 p.m. or Saturday from 6:00-7:00
a.m.
We will sign you up, show you where to place your
items and then send you a check. That's it! You don't have to sit with your items, collect money or even haul your
unsold stuff away. The one requirement for selling your items is that you be registered for the conference.
We will close the room from 2:00-2:30 to remove green tagged items. At 3:00
we will reopen for the bag sale. All proceeds from the bag sale will go to HSC. We always have a large number of terrific
items left at the end of the sale and this will help reduce donations and benefit HSC.
Be sure to sign in and bring a self-addressed, stamped envelope for your reimbursement check. These checks
will be mailed by September 1 and cannot be issued at the conference. HSC will issue one check per family.
To cover our costs, HSC will be charging sellers a 20 percent participation fee.
There will be no additional entry fee. Adjust your prices accordingly. (HSC pays the sales tax and will deduct it out of the
20% participation fee.)
Tags & Pricing
We have set a minimum price of 25¢ per item this year. You may
price as you like, but you might like to know that many people price new or near-new high-end, high-demand items at 50% of
original cost. Otherwise, “yard sale” prices are more the norm.
We
tally each seller’s payment based on the tags we remove from items sold. Each item needs to be clearly labeled with
your name and a price on a removable tag. You might want to include a short title of the item as well, especially for the
pricier items.
Things you can do to help:
· Use even numbered pricing (50¢, $1, $2,etc.)-
It helps speed up checkout
· Use uniform-sized
and colored tags at least 2 inches square (smaller tags can get lost). One half of a 3x5 card works well. Please do not use
post-it notes because they stick together during the sorting and counting phase.
· Use scotch tape on two opposite sides of the tag. Please do not tape diagonially
or use staples or paper clips. Bring a few grocery bags to aid in the checkout process.
To donate the sale price of any item to HSC, write “HSC” on the tag instead of your name. If your
tag falls off, the price is automatically donated to HSC.
If you
want items that are not sold returned to you put a green dot on the tag. Unsold items with green dots must be picked up from
the RRR before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Items not retrieved will be donated or added to the bag sale. Green dots should be very
obvious.
