The Teen Program at the HSC Conference is one of the most extensive and exciting programs offered by any homeschool conference in the country! Our Teen Conference Committee (TCC) is made up of HSC teens from all over California who spend a full year planning every aspect of the teen program during monthly meetings that are held all over the state.  We are very excited to present a number of workshops, dances and other social activities especially for our teens!

Especially for Teens!

Dangerous Electronics for Teens

Joe Betts-LaCroix

Build your own zapper by first building your own high-voltage capacitor out of the supplies provided. You may choose to build a either of two more challenge options: a working electric motor, and a "mystery" project. The most dangerous part of this class is that it could change your mind about the wonderful field you plan to devote your life to, causing you to instead choose electronics. All supplies are provided, and all that's required is resonable skill with the hands, a brain, and some curiosity. The session will start with a brief explanation of the projects and how they work, followed by interactive, hands-on construction and play.

General Controversial Issues

TCC

You're probably asking yourself, "What kind of controversial issues will we be discussing this year?" The answer is:  Whatever you want to talk about. Perhaps there's something you've wanted to talk about but never felt like it was appropriate? Maybe you know about an issue you want more people to know about?  If it's controversial, come talk about it here with other teens. This discussion will be lead by TCC member Jonathan Vincent.

Henna
